Medvedev boosted up the “Sphinxes”, but the “Lions” sealed the victory in the Legends Match at the North Palmyra Trophies
In the Legends Match at the North Palmyra Trophies tournament, friendship prevailed.
What a surprise! The “Lions” brought not a duo but a trio to the legends match. Dmitry Tursunov joined Svetlana Kuznetsova and Janko Tipsarevic. And when Tursunov steps onto the court, nobody gets bored – neither the audience, nor the teammates, nor the opponents.
Anastasia Myskina and Nikolay Davydenko heroically fended off attacks from the numerically advantaged opponents. In the beginning of the first set, played by classic rules, the “Lions” made a break and then concluded the set with jokes and laughter in their favor.
The second set proceeded in the format of a championship tie-break. The “Sphinxes” were joined by the general director of the North Palmyra Trophies Alexander Medvedev. The point he won for his team sparked a storm of emotions from the crowd. In the end, the “Lions” proved stronger on the score, but the audience was the real winner.
