North Palmyra Trophies
Equal score and a storm of emotions. What the North Palmyra Trophies tournament will bring us tomorrow?
Friday at the 'Arena' sport complex turned out to be eventful. And there's more to come.
Have you ever seen a wedding on a tennis court? How about a tennis match in a '3 on 2' format? We had it all! And much more.

Players from the 'Lions' team, Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko, legalized their relationship at the registry office on English Embankment today, receiving congratulations right on the court of the 'Arena'.

The 'Lions,' featuring Svetlana Kuznetsova, Janko Tipsarevic, and - attention! - Dmitry Tursunov, defeated the duo of Anastasia Myskina and Nikolay Davydenko in an exhibition 'Legends Match.'

And Alexander Bublik, to the delight of the Saint Petersburg audience, was on fire during the match against the former 9th-ranked player in the world, Roberto Bautista Agut. The crowd favorite served in his signature style and grumbled at himself. But in the tie-break, he composed himself and made decisive rallies with composure. Thus, securing the victory, and allowing the 'Lions' to equalize the score. Earlier, Yulia Putintseva defeated Victoriya Tomova, surprising even herself with the quality and swiftness of the game.

There are two more eventful days ahead of tennis enthusiasts.

Saturday will open with the junior final: rising star of Russian tennis and Wimbledon junior finalist Yaroslav Demin will play against 16-year-old Egor Pleshivtsev. The game day will continue with five matches between the 'Lions' and the 'Sphinxes.' Laslo Djere vs. Adrian Mannarino, Anastasia Potapova vs. Veronika Kudermetova, Vera Zvonareva vs. Diana Schaider, Karen Khachanov vs. Dusan Lajovic.

The mixed doubles are promising to be the highlight of the program — Potapova and Shevchenko will play together for the first time as husband and wife. Their opponents will be Yulia Putintseva and Roberto Bautista Agut.

On Sunday, we look forward to the final of the junior girls, Daria Shadchneva vs. Victoria Milovanova, as well as matches between Khachanov and Mannarino, Shevchenko and Bublik, and the doubles performance of Vera Zvonareva and Anastasia Potapova, concluding the showdown between the 'Lions' and the 'Sphinxes.'
